Office work, as well as many types of hands-on work and hobbies, require sustained intermediate vision. Traditional progressives don’t always provide a large enough viewing zone to support these activities. epik™ Office HD lenses feature wide intermediate and reading zones. And since every working situation is different, epik™ Office HD is available in a choice of five working distances.

epik™ Office HD lenses do not offer a clear field of view beyond 13 feet. They should NEVER be used driving or for activities that require clear distance vision.

Prescribing

  • Provide a normal progressive prescription with distance Rx, reading add, monocular PD’s and fitting height.

  • Choose the desired maximum intermediate focal length based on the wearer’s required viewing range.

Fitting

  • Fit like a progressive lens.

  • Use monocular interpupillary distances.

  • Ensure a minimum frame B dimension (depth) of 25mm.

  • 14-35mm fitting heights for all frames.

Ordering

 

  • Order this lens just like a progressive and specify the intermediate focal length required.

  • DO NOT MANIPULATE THE POWER OF THE LENS. Power is adjusted automatically at the lab.

epik™ DRV - Digital Relaxed Vision

The highest percentage of digital eyestrain complaints are in the 18-34 age group. Since most people hold mobile devices about 25% closer than printed materials, symptoms of presbyopia may occur in their early 30s, or even younger. The lower contrast and resolution of digital screens can also increase strain.
